History and Philosophy

Little John's was established in 1984 and immediately became a "habit" for many local residents in the Carlisle and surrounding areas. Throughout the years, Little John's has become the standard by which our customers measure other operations. Recognition awards, such as "Best Family Dining, Best Desserts, Four Forks award, First in the state for Food Safety," to name just a few, are some of the awards our staff has earned through their dedication and hard work.

Our menu has evolved over the years from "comfort" foods to American cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. Although the comfort foods are still a big part of our daily menu, one would find items on our regular or special menu that will please just about any appetite.

It's the "little" things that make the difference!

OUR PHILOSOPHY is to focus on food quality, service, cleanliness, and making
the customer feel important.

Most importantly, we focus on the environment and culture of the operation. To walk into the restaurant one would immediately realize a sense of belonging. The business goes beyond the commercial aspect. We know the important role our restaurant plays for the community. A "gathering place" of such is necessary for community wellness. Being sensitive to the needs of staff and customers is where the greatest emphasis is placed each and every day.
